About Sheaf Toss

Sheaf Toss is one of the traditional Highland Games events and reflects the agricultural heritage behind many Highland competitions. Athletes use a pitchfork to throw a burlap sheaf up and over a rising bar. As the bar moves higher, the challenge becomes more dramatic, requiring not only strength but also timing, control, and the right release. The athlete who clears the greatest height wins.
